Freedom Academy
"To enhance the quality of life for those who are willing to
enrich their education"
Since 1991 thousands of people have taken advantage of Freedom Academy's
adult continuing education program. Responding to high-quality, practical
education and training at convenient locations, adult students in six
northeastern Indiana counties have experienced rewarding outcomes in the Freedom
Academy classroom. Those classrooms are the local high schools, middle schools
and libraries in their hometown. They are also in the training rooms of business
and industry.
The late Chester E. Dekko, Chairman of the Board of Group Dekko International
and President of The Dekko Foundation, saw a need and filled it. A strong
believer in education and personal development, his vision carries on today.
Founded in 1991, Freedom Academy inspires people who wish to master a skill,
enhance performance on the job or simply explore a hobby or craft. Course
Offerings are available in DeKalb, Steuben, Noble, LaGrange, Whitley and
Kosciusko counties throughout the year, while On-Site training for business and
industry can be scheduled at anytime.
Students receive Continuing Education Units (CEU's) and certificates for
successful class completions. A partnership with Vincennes University allows for
a credit option for many of the Freedom Academy classes. For those people who
desire formal validation in addition to the pure satisfaction of the learning
experience, they may choose to take the Vincennes University credit option.
Our strategy is unique and effective - Connect adults who want to learn with
experts in the field. Sharing valuable background experiences, the instructors
are bridging the gap between theory and real-life applications. Enthusiastic
students appreciate the value of the Freedom Academy classroom experience.
Learning from the experts, creating the connection and making a difference.
